Admission Policy
All parents who wish to have their child admitted to Blueprints Learning Center must meet with the Program Director or Site Supervisor and tour the facility. Because of the two programs (Foundations and Scaffolding) running simultaneously, Dr. Rebecca will guide each family in determining which program is the best fit for their child(ren). Then, they must fill out the Enrollment Information Packet, provide a copy of the child’s immunization record, the most recent well-check physical and pay the first fee according to the payment schedule they have chosen.
Children must be 2 years 6 months old for our preschool program. Children are accepted on a first-come first-serve basis after meeting with Dr. Rebecca. Classes have a general staff-to-student ratio of 1:8 which aligns with the recommendations made by the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The class sizes have a maximum of 16 students for 2 teachers/assistants (unless otherwise indicated). There is a wait-list available for when classes reach their maximum enrollment.
Further, all children who are admitted to Blueprints Learning Center will undergo an intake skills assessment supervised by the Program Director in order for the staff to determine what skills the child has and what skills may need to be improved. The curriculum used is structured in order to facilitate higher learning and better understanding of kindergarten prerequisite skills.
Foundations
Children accepted into the Foundations program must be potty trained and able to be role models in skills such as patience, empathy, play, language, and social skills. They will be specifically taught how to interact with children with special needs in order to be a buddy for a child with special needs. Children will learn how to listen, respond, and prompt for interactions with children with Speech or Language Impairments and Autism and other children with mild-moderate special needs.
Scaffolding
Children will be accepted after Dr. Rebecca has met with the family and completed a full psycho-educational evaluation to determine strengths and weakness as well as identify specific goals for each child to work on while at Blueprints. Blueprints has an educational psychologist, speech and language pathologist, physical therapist, and occupational therapist who consult and participate in educational planning and supplementary therapy as appropriate for each child. These professionals are also available to provide individual and smaller group therapies as needed within or outside of the school day.
